Haymes Colour Forecast 2015

The Haymes 2015 Colour Forecast presents five themes as predictions for next year’s key colour trends. These themes are depicted from various trend-forecasting mediums, such as Maison Objet Paris, Future Lab and the forecasting website ‘Stylesight’, as well as Haymes’ own colour direction. For each of the five outlined themes, a selection of Heathfield & Co lighting designs are highlighted as exemplifying the presented range of colour tones.

Haymes explains the ethos behind forecast “The inspiration behind the 2015 colour forecast comes from an overriding awareness that people need to feel comfortable and secure within their home. Throughout each forecast look, the varying materials and colour palettes used reflect this concept of wanting to feel safe and relaxed within a space, providing a tranquil and soothing setting …This notion of re-connecting to our roots has seen a shift in colour direction, as we move towards softer palettes. This is demonstrated in the two themes ‘Raw’ and ‘New Skin’ where you will see a palette of solid and dependable colours. The exploration of natural tones leads to the development of lush greens and dusty pinks, which is illustrated in the themes ‘Rhythmic Palms’ and ‘Exotic Botanic’, both echoing the diversity of nature. In stark contrast, ‘Relaxed Replay’ brings together feel good, vibrant brights like brilliant yellow and hot pink, which takes us back to the retro era“.

‘NEW SKIN’

New Skin is inspired by the familiarity and comfort that one gets from their favourite pair of jeans- a feeling of a second skin. This relaxed, cool theme explores denim related textures and colour tones and how these translate within the home. The New Skin colour palette travels from mineral pastels through to deep blues and greys, illustrating the natural erosion that comes with overuse, just like a pair of jeans. New Skin provides an easy living, understated style, naturally constructing a sense of relaxation and tranquillity in any home“.

Heathfield & Co’s ‘Esme Sapphire’ table lamp features a graduated, elegant, faded blue that perfect encapsulates the ‘New Skin’ colour palette. The ‘Pelorus Frost Turquoise’, ‘Verdi Indigo Blue’, ‘Brackett Antique Blue’, ‘Sabine Nickel’ and ‘Bella Antique Blue’ table lamps also pair well with the ‘New Skin’ colour scheme.

‘RHYTHMIC PALMS’

Rhythmic Palms explores the notion of escapism and replenishment through a deep, rich palette that amplifies colour and pattern. Combining dark charcoals and lush greens, Rhythmic Palms explores new beginnings, from a tiny budding flower in the densest of jungles, to the first drop of water in a hidden oasis. This theme presents a fresh and crisp take on the ambiguity of what lays beneath the treetops. Rhythmic Palms captures and exaggerates the scale of the environment to make a real statement in the home, playing on obvious motifs with oversized patterns and saturated colours to truly encapsulate the jungle feel; instinctual and primitive“.

The dark blues and natural greens found within the ‘Rhythmic Palms’ colour palette are prominent colours for Heathfield & Co’s lighting collection. The ‘Constance’ table lamp range, for example, features two shade finishes, ‘Lichen Satin’ and ‘Dark Teal Satin’, that exemplify this theme’s colour tones. The Pigalle table lamp is also available in two sympathetic finishes; ‘Chartreuse Green’ and Ocean’. Other Heathfield & Co lighting designs that accurately represent this colour palette include the ‘Hillaire Slate’ and the ‘Lola Chartreuse Green’ table lamps.

 ‘RAW’

Raw explores the notion of detoxing and editing out the clutter. It is about redefining what is important through a natural selection process. The Raw colour palette is one of neutral tones, made up of a collection of soft hues, creating a calming effect. This natural palette is very subdued, generating an ethereal atmosphere with warm brown and cream tones forming the perfect base for any interior styling. The focus shifts to minimalism using colours, textures and materials in the home derived from nature“.

The calming and natural colours found within the ‘Raw’ colour palette are effectively represented by a number of designs from Heathfield & Co’s lighting range. Cream and ivory tones are found in lamp designs such as the ‘Hericus Antique Ivory’, ‘Somerton Creme’ and ‘Willow Mist’. ‘RELAXED REPLAY’

Relaxed Replay takes a nostalgic perceptive, stepping back in time and presenting a vibrant, bold and effervescent colour palette. Influenced by Miami Beach and some seriously psychedelic patterning, this retro revival theme looks at finding the joy in the simple things in life and exploring spontaneity. Through a bright colour palette, of hot pinks and sherbet yellow this theme presents a quirky, energetic take on the brighter side of life. Whether it’s a family beach side holiday or an impulsive decision to paint a wall pink“.

The vibrant pinks utilised in the ‘Relaxed Replay’ colour palette can be found in the ‘Eris Fuchsia’ and ‘Mia Fuchsia’ table lamps. The yellow color tones feature prominantly in the ‘Pelorus Frost Amber’ table lamp and as a contemporary shade option for the ‘Perle’ table lamp. The range of deep blues are shown in designs such as the ‘Metis Peacock’ and ‘Caulfield Azure’ table lamps. Additionally, the pattern utilised on the glass base of the Caulfield table lamp is a revival of a 1950’s pattern, further emphasising its connection to this retrospective colour palette.
