Decorex International 2016

It was great to see so many people at this year’s edition of Decorex International. Marking the start of the 2016 London Design Festival, Decorex was the perfect venue to feature our latest lighting designs and to preview some of our upcoming pieces, including some exciting collaborations with a number celebrated designers.

Established in 1978, Decorex International is recognised as one of the most significant international design events, attracting leading interior designers, architects and specifiers from around the world. This year’s event, hosted at London’s Syon Park, and running from 18th – 21st September, featured more than four-hundred exhibitors. The event is also part of the wider London Design Festival; this year itself comprised of more than our-hundred separate events and installations. Max Fraser, Deputy Director of the London Design Festival commented in the run-up to this year’s festival “Decorex International is a longstanding design and interiors exhibition that celebrates exceptional quality, beautiful materials and outstanding craftsmanship and is an integral part of the London Design Festival”.

An addition to the hundreds of exhibitors, this year’s Decorex International featured a series of events and seminar talks. One such event’ ‘The Crafthouse’, was comprised of a series of interactive room-sets exploring the key attributes of what makes a home. The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) also held a series of ‘mentoring roundtables’ with experts such as Susie Rumbold, BIID President, and Harriet Forde of HF Design. This roundtable sessions aimed to provide valuable support to new professionals in the interiors industry. Across each of the four days, Decorex also held a comprehensive seminar programme discussing topics such as ‘What defines British interior design’, ‘Discovering the design process’ and ‘Exploring the links between fashion and interiors’.
