Job Summary
Reporting to: Head of Creative
Position Type: Full Time, Maternity Cover (12-16 months) 

The Product Manager will play a central role within Heathfield & Co, ensuring both new product development and the ongoing management of the existing range are delivered with precision, clarity, and commercial awareness.

This role is responsible for taking approved designs through the full development journey - from concept to launch - while independently driving timelines, coordination, and decision-making. Alongside development responsibilities, the Product Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the product range, ensuring performance, lifecycle, and product improvements are continuously monitored and optimised.

This role requires a balance of organisational rigour and creative sensitivity, ensuring designs are developed with both technical precision and an understanding of how they will live within interior schemes.

 

Main Responsibilities:  
Product Development

  • Own and drive the product development critical path, ensuring all calendar milestones are met
  • Proactively manage deliverables and dependencies from internal stakeholders, including the Head of Creative, Product Designers, and CAD Specialist, ensuring development timelines remain on track
  • Take approved product designs and translate them into structured development projects
  • Work closely with technical teams to specify all technical and engineering requirements
  • Coordinate sampling, revisions, approvals, and visual review points
  • Manage development timelines, costing targets, and supplier communication
  • Ensure products meet all technical, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Issue clear briefs to suppliers, including specifications, price targets, and deadlines
  • Lead development, production, and sample review meetings, capturing feedback and actions
  • Communicate approvals, comments, and revisions to suppliers with accuracy and clarity
  • Oversee supplier onboarding where required
  • Travel to suppliers and trade fairs when required

Product Management (Existing Range)

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the product range, acting as the central point of contact
  • Maintain and monitor product lifecycle statuses
  • Analyse and present product performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Identify declining sales early and support appropriate commercial actions
  • Run data and analysis to inform product decisions and improvements
  • Support product resourcing and supply continuity
  • Support product improvement initiatives

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Independently manage supplier and factory communication
  • Coordinate across Creative, Technical, Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams
  • Ensure alignment between design intent, technical feasibility, and commercial objectives
  • Maintain development trackers, timelines, and documentation
  • Support internal communication relating to product updates and changes

 

The ideal candidate must have: 

  • 3+ years of proven experience within product development, buying, or product management
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • A natural creative with an eye for interiors, and love for design
  • Confident managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
  • Highly structured, delivery-focused, and process-driven
  • Analytical and commercially aware
  • Comfortable interpreting data to inform decisions
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Naturally collaborative, yet confident working independently
  • Strong understanding of materials, production processes, and technical considerations
