MacArthur Court: Raindrop

Two adjacent Raindrop installations completed in MacArthur Court for Irvine Company in association with architectural practice Gensler.

Suspended dramatically over water, the twin installations were designed for the foyer of two commercial properties in Newport Beach, California. With each one measuring over 6 metres in length and containing 319 mirrored Raindrops, each hand blown borosilicate glass piece had to be carefully coordinated and meticulously strung to ensure the fluidity of the shape.
