Located in the heart of Mayfair, London, 1 Hotel redefines luxury with a distinctive blend of urban allure and eco-conscious design. Set away from the busy city streets, this unique hotel features over 1,000 plants, shrubs, and trees in addition to the living moss walls, creating a space where sustainability meets sophisticated elegance.
In collaboration with Chris Turner Procurement and G.A Group, our team of project managers, product designers and design engineers worked to create a series of bespoke lighting fixtures and fittings that aligned to 1 Hotel’s commitment to style and sustainability by integrating natural materials and neutral, earthy tones.
Beyond the lobby, restaurant, and terrace, the hotel features a signature cocktail bar, The Dover Yard. With a nature-inspired aesthetic, our bespoke oversized cork pendants are a sustainable yet impactful addition to the space. To form these, large blocks of cork are bonded together before undergoing mechanical carving. The final shape is then refined by hand-sanding down the cork. Black floor lamps with leather shades complement the pendants and cast an ambient light, adding to the overall sense of relaxation.
The guestrooms and suites exude laid-back luxury achieved through thoughtful touches of nature and an earthy colour scheme. Textural accents such as our Portland Stone table lamp showcase the rich history of craftsmanship and quality in Mayfair. Naturally extracted in the UK, the grey, solid stone lamps feature small white fragments and a softly textured finish. Brown leather table lamps, jute rope ceiling pendants and dark bronze floor lamps with clear glass lantern shades are also among the bespoke lighting we designed and manufactured for the 181 guestrooms.
The Penthouse suite, overlooking Green Park, draws inspiration from the tonal palette of the park itself. Our Clio table lamp, crafted from Breccia Capraia marble sourced in northern Tuscany, is an example of the seamless integration of natural textures into the furniture and decor. Custom-made pendant lighting with matte bronze metalwork hangs on either side of the vanity mirror, casting a gentle and tranquil glow across the space.
