QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS
Key trends shaping 2024/25 interiors?
Prominent trends that seem to be big this year is the use of more playful furniture pieces. The curved sofas, quirky shaped rugs, chairs and tables are really making interior schemes sing at the moment. We are also continuing to see the use of natural materials such as marbles, muted tones through upholstery and warmer woods to create a warm relaxed feel.
Where to spend on a project?
We always believe that our clients should invest in high quality key upholstery pieces. The comfort and practicality of a sofa, bed or dining chairs is so important and you want these items to pieces the test of time.
Where to save on a project?
There are some really beautiful off the shelf options out there now such as coffee tables and side tables. Not everything has to be bespoke and it’s a good way to help spread the budget. One thing to also consider is upcycling existing furniture pieces. We are currently working on a beautiful family home in the Peak District and the clients didn’t love the kitchen. However it has simply been repainted and now looks incredible and the clients are thrilled with the transformation.
Favourite room to design, and why?
I love designing all areas of our clients homes but if I had to pick one it would be open plan living/kitchen spaces. They are the heart of the home and where our clients spend the majority of their time and I love being creative with the layouts to help zone these larger spaces.
Top lighting tip or trick?
If you haven’t got a smart system at home, currently Philips hue is a brilliant way of controlling and tailoring your lighting. Phillips Hue bulbs can create lots of different atmospheres and feelings in your space through different colours and brightness’s. It can also be controlled through Alexa or an app on your phone. Lighting plays a huge part on how we feel and the sort of mood we want to achieve throughout the day so its definitely worth investing in.
Favourite Heathfield lamp?
I honestly love them all, the collections just get better and better. However, right now it would be Astri, I love the organic shape and texture of this lamp, we have just used it in our Peak District project.
