Discover why statement stone is defining interiors in 2026, from richly veined marble to softly glowing alabaster in timeless lighting designs.
Natural stone has always held a special place in interiors, but in 2026 it takes centre stage. Interiors are embracing variation, texture, and softly aged surfaces, giving rooms a sense of depth and individuality. This year, we’re seeing a bolder approach: richly veined marbles and coloured stones in deep greens, moody burgundies, and warm earthy tones.
At Heathfield & Co, we’ve long admired statement stone for its timelessness. While trends come and go, stone feels permanent, enduring. In our lighting designs, stone isn’t just functional - it’s the feature. Bases and detailing crafted from marble or alabaster draw the eye, letting natural veining and variation tell their own story. The result is lighting that carries weight, texture, and a quiet sense of luxury - a kind of design that invites you to linger, live with, and love for years.
Take a closer look at the two stones we work with most: marble and alabaster.
Marble; a timeless choice
The journey of our marble pieces begins in Lucca, a mountainous region in northern Tuscany, where blocks of stone are carefully extracted from quarries, then transported to the studio of our trusted supplier. Here, the highly skilled artisans meticulously examine each slab to ensure only pieces with especially beautiful veining are selected for our products. These slabs are then machine cut into smaller blocks before the hand work commences; the sharp edges are chiselled away and crafted into our beautiful lamp bases.
We work with a range of marbles, each offering its own story. Kobi features elegant Calacatta marble with delicate veining that perfectly complements the sleek lines and curves of these designs. In contrast, the Miko and Ezra Bronze lamps, with bold Black Carrara marble bases, make a striking statement. The warm mocha tones of the Ezra Satin Brass or the captivating beauty of Breccia Capraia marble on our Rosa and Clio table, with shades of deep violet and dusky pinks, come to life when the lamp is lit, revealing the subtle depth and character of each stone.
Alabaster; a perfect canvas for light
Our Alabaster collection follows a similarly considered path, starting in Teruel, eastern Spain. Blocks of the natural stone are extracted from quarries and transported to the studio of one of our most trusted suppliers. It is here that the raw material is carefully cut and formed into our distinctive designs.
Every hand carved shape draws influence from nature. The minimalist sphere of Rhea is a simple design that echoes the soft light of the moon. Waves, ridges and grooves in table lamps like Roca and Blanca create more sculptural pieces – beautiful objects that cast playful reflections and mesmerizing effects across their surfaces when the light is on.
