Set in West Cork, Ireland, with breathtaking views across the water, the homeowners brought in Geri Designs to restore and furnish the property. The brief was to create a space that feels warm and relaxed - somewhere friends and family could get together and unwind. Drawing on the textures and tones of the surrounding landscape, the team developed a calm, neutral scheme layered with warmth and thoughtful detail throughout.
As Geri Designs explains, “Layered lighting is everything. From highlighting art to creating atmosphere, we think about it from the build stage so it works naturally with the design. Every light has a role to play.” That approach is felt throughout the bedrooms, where our lighting has been carefully considered as part of the wider scheme.
In the downstairs primary bedroom, soft green hues, layered neutrals and tactile finishes create a sense of calm. Our Sierra chandelier in Chalk sits comfortably within the scheme, its soft form and understated finish complementing the room whilst also adding a contemporary touch.
Also on the ground floor, the first guest bedroom has a more intimate feel. With less natural light to work with, Geri Designs leant into warmer colours and richer materials. Our Ilana table lamps sit either side of the bespoke headboard, their gently grainy texture taking inspiration from nature, whilst the solid brass detail at the neck ties neatly into the brass accents found elsewhere in the room. Overhead, our Talia pendant completes the layered lighting scheme, adding a simple but elegant focal point. The glass is flecked with taupe, cream and olive grains, so it looks just as good switched off as it does when lit.
Upstairs, the second primary bedroom and final guest room are filled with natural daylight and a sense of ease. Warm linen, subtle brass details and a pared-back approach keep the spaces feeling fresh yet characterful. Here, our Clio table lamp adds depth through material rather than scale. Crafted from Breccia Capraia marble, its rusty tones and sandy beiges sit beautifully alongside the surrounding palette, adding warmth and quiet character.
